'Tis the season to be jolly, and my tutor room is no exception! đâ¨
I've officially turned my academic dungeon into a winter wonderland, and let me tell you, it's a sight to behold! âď¸ First of all, my whiteboard has been transformed into a festive masterpiece. Instead of equations or verb tenses, it now proudly displays Santa's "To-Do List," which includes "Eat cookies," "Sleigh maintenance," and "Remind elves to keep it down in the workshop." Who knew Santa had so many things to check off?
The real star of the show inside is the Christmas tree. It's a little smaller than your average tree, but it's a perfect fit for my cosy tutor room. đ˛ Now, let's talk about Christmas lights. The cabin's wrapped in so many twinkling lights that it's visible from space. Astronauts can't help but feel festive when they fly over, and Santa's sleigh probably uses our place as a GPS landmark. I suppose all that MAY be an exaggeration....but Rudolph told me he doesn't think so. đ°ď¸đ â¨
And I couldn't forget the snowflakes! I've got paper snowflakes of all shapes and sizes adorning the windows, each one representing a different excuse for not doing homework. "I lost my notes in a blizzard of forgetfulness," or "My dog ate my problem set, and it came out as confetti." Creative? They have to be when it comes to homework excuses! Not the students' excuses, mind you, just mine...âď¸âď¸
Oh, and don't even get me started on the festive snacks! For anyone coming to the Tutor Room from Monday 18th - Saturday 23rd December, there will be complimentary candy canes, mince pies, gingerbread cookies, amaretti biscuits (for the adults!) and hot cocoa that's so warm and comforting, it's practically a tutor (like moi) in liquid form. Marshmallows or not? Your choice entirely!âď¸đŞ
So, if you're looking to add a little holiday cheer to maths woes, sooth verbal reasoning vexations or calm creative writing cramps, then regulars can simply swap in-house or online tutoring sessions and instead bring young people-of-importance down to my tutor room to enjoy a little festive cheer!**
**As ever, parents are welcome to stay or go.
It is advised that you contact the Tutor Room early in the new year if you're considering tuition for your child - particularly if it's for 11+ tuition needs for 2025 or 2026 grammar school entry. The Tutor Room is currently full for all regular sessions but slots will inevitably become available after examinations in early September 2024.
Easter and Summer holiday sessions (ad-hoc, if preferred) can be booked at mutually convenient times.
